A special clinic to help you learn about
the Postures we use in many classes!
April 1st at Noon
Helping your body internalize the poses
You've probably heard a teacher say that yoga is a "moving meditation." And, when you first begin warm or hot yoga, you probably said "They've got to be kidding! I'm struggling to survive in here!"
Yep, we understand completely. And we also know that the cardiovascular benefits, with additions to breathing, strength, flexibility, and balance, have kept a lot of us coming back. As we "settle" into our practice, we begin to get a better physical-sense of each pose and our body begins to seek that familiar position.
Our posture clinic will help you find the right place to "settle" within each pose... at least for now. It's your best current position, as we slowly bring years of misalignment and struggle into a place where our body can rest and relax. Then, as we practice, we can find our way back to that position. We call this muscle memory. And as we get there, the practice does indeed begin to be a moving meditation, where we do less thinking and struggling and allow the body to find it's best current position.
WHAT TO EXPECT: We spend two hours in a warm room (not hot) for the posture clinic, walking you through each of the poses while offering personal adjustments to help you find correct alignment in each pose. Please bring a mat, towel and water. If you are practicing at 10 am before the clinic, bring some snacks to help maintain energy and focus.
NOTE: Space is limited, so sign up today!
