Hints for New Students 

What you need to know the first time you come...


Hot & Warm yoga classes help you stretch and build flexibility, strength & balance.

There's been a lot of research on the benefits of yoga in general.  It helps with your physical well being and also with mental, emotional and in some cases spiritual well being. Warm and hot yoga classes in the style taught at Tucson Yoga Sol help by warming the muscles, increasing lung capacity, and building a stronger you.

Sure, the idea of heat can be daunting for new students. Here's a couple of things to know and do the first time you come to the studio.

Before you come...
  • ​It's good to not eat a big meal before you come to class. Something lite is the right idea.
  • Hydrate.  If you are from Tucson, you do this anyway and hot & warm yoga mean you need to do it more.
  • Wear something comfortable & light. Less is better when you are in the room.
  • Bring a shower towel, a mat towel and a yoga mat or you can rent any of these from the studio. And you may want a small personal lock for the lockers.
  • Relax... everyone in the room has had the same experience.
What happens when you are there...
  • Come at least 15 minutes early so that you can check in,  get a quick tour, figure out the locker rooms, find your class room and settle down.
  • You can buy a package of classes before and/or after class. Once you have a package, check-in is easy.
  • We do have small lockers for your valuables.
  • With lots of rest room facilities, find a place to store your clothes and head for the yoga room. There are two, so make certain you know which one is for your class.
  • Come in quietly, find a place for your mat and towel and breathe.

A few words from an older student...

"Those of us who have been doing this for some time find that it is enormously helpful for our bodies.  And, it takes time to adjust.  Don't press to do everything the first class, or even the first couple of classes. Take care of your body and ease into it.
