The Monsoon Charity Challenge is on for August
...let's have some fun, do some yoga, and help our community!
This year's Monsoon Charity Challenge is supporting
Wildlife Rehabilitation in NW Tucson
For 30 years, Wildlife Rehabilitation in Northwest Tucson has been helping wild animals that need some human intervention to get back on their feet (or wings).
Last year, a devastating fire consumed the original facility. Through the efforts of many local folks and volunteers, the organization has continued its operations and reopened a facility to house their charges.
A year later, the center a beautiful new bird/work room as well as new and refurbished outdoor aviaries. Janet Miller, the wildlife rehabilitation specialist who directs the facility, was safe and unharmed by the fire and her dedicated volunteers continue to work hard every day of the week, morning and evening, rescuing and caring for sick, injured, and orphaned animals, including great horned owls, songbirds, ducks, rabbits, and a skunk!
We are grateful for all the generosity, support, and love that we have received and continue to receive from the community, including many of our friends here in Tucson.
If you find an injured or orphaned wild animal, it is best to contact our facility by calling 520-743-0217. You may have to leave a message but a volunteer will call you back as soon as possible.
