The Spring Yoga Challenge is designed to move you
...from survive, to thrive!
How Does it Work?
|
Eight weeks or four weeks...either one works! Sign up at the front desk. Pick a Challenge level: 3 times per week (Bronze), 4 times a week (Silver) or 5 times per week (Gold). If you are a regular practitioner and know you can do three times, stretch a little and pick 4 or 5. If you are new to hot yoga, consider a 3 time (Bronze level) commitment.
Come to any class (Classic 90, Express 60, EZ 60 or either Flow class) they all count; we'll keep track of your attendance. And we'll cheer you on! Along the way, we have special recognition and some special events. For example, all Challenge participants have the option of a free Posture clinic, taught by Diane and Dusty. At the end of the challenge, we'll have a celebration and a raffle with prizes for the participants who successfully complete their. Plus, your body will thank you! Participants with Unlimited Monthly or Unlimited Annual passes are all set. If you want to participate and are not on an Unlimited pass, we have a special one-month challenge package for those of you who want to try our TYS Yoga "Half-Marathon" throughout April. Ask us about it at the front desk or buy it online (see below) |
Give it 30 Dayr or 60 Days...It can change your life! |
Many students struggle maintaining a regular practice with their busy lifestyles.
As teachers, we talk about the benefits of practicing 3 to 5 times per week, and, yet, when you experience the transformative benefits of regular practice, you personally sense the differences between occasional dabbling and a solid base of practice. Infrequent practice often put us at odds with the heated room and we may never move past "surviving" the heat into the depth and breadth of the practice that lies beyond acclimating to the heat. The Yoga Challenge is designed to move us from survive, to thrive! |
Frequency, precision, intensity bring...
|
The three key factors in a yoga practice are frequency, precision, and intensity. In the practice, we repeat each posture and complete the same 26 posture series. By doing the practice 3 to 5 times per week the practitioner is able to gain flexibility, strength and the medical benefits of the postures sooner than practicing a few times a week.
With consistent practice, you are better able to listen to your body and be more precise with movements. With consistent and careful practice, you develop the strength to go deeper. |
Body and mind? |
In order to achieve peace of mind, one needs to start with the body and relieve pain,
disease and chronic illnesses. When the body is at peace, the mind can more easily follow. |
Off the Mat Benefits!
|
A regular practice results in a wide range of benefits. Most often reported: stress reduction, weight loss, improve muscle tone, improve athletic performance, reduced pain and stiffness, recovery from injuries, better digestion, improved energy and vitality, and better sleep. Not a cure-all, and pretty impressive. If you want to check, just ask any of the students at our studio who have practiced for some time; they'll tell you!

What happens at
the Posture Clinic? |
Facilitated by Diane & Dusty, the included optional posture clinic is an extended, warm class where postures are described in detail, demonstrated, and your questions can be addressed. Students integrate the information, working with each posture while teachers help with personal adjustments and feedback. It's designed to be fun and informative. We've scheduled the Posture Clinic for the afternoon of April 1st! (No kidding). To Sign Up for the Posture Clinic, click here!
